It's so cute, but I absolutely hate the overlays on the website, right above the score/target info. Am I missing the way to fix that somehow?
I figured it out lolol
I’m glad! Because that sounds really annoying. How did you fix it? The issue isn’t present on my computer but just so I know for others.
also, thanks for playing!
Damn you, I want to keep playing! (love it, great game)
Thanks a lot! We worked hard on it.
So close to the 5 day record! Had to grind so many openers to get this, so pretty happy with it. I'm so glad there was a post saying that 5 was possible because it really blew my mind and helped push me to really optimize and think through every card. Absolutely love this game!
Omg! How did you get that score?? I love these kinds of comments, and I’m glad you love the game! Motivates me to keep going :)
Decided to go for score flare since I couldn’t get the 5 day lol. Here was the score approach:
Spoiler
I had already used the Brainstorm + Overcome loop to get over a hundred hours, then I got Set Routine to reduce everything to 0. Got Glass Half Full and Extra Credit, made 2 huge goals, used Glass Half Full to get one like 80% complete and then used Revision to split it into the other big goal. First time I tried to do this I made the number so big that I couldn’t finish it because I only had Glass Half Full and Grind so this time I think Revision made it slightly faster? Not sure.
I'm impressed - well done!!! That's insane
Thanks! I finally beat the record today, using a slightly modified version of Allison’s strategy.
Spoiler
I got Syncing Up, Clean, Overcome into a second copy of Syncing Up. Then I looped the copies of Syncing up with the Overcome to net hours and complete projects until I got Brainstorm and Small Step to make things a little faster. Syncing Up rocks! Easily my favorite card design in the game it’s so cool. I think 4 days may be the hard limit for the game.
Congrats on becoming the new champion! 👑 I wish I could give you some type of award. But you shall have eternal glory.
Syncing up is a great card! Multiple people have said that it’s their favorite. The idea came from our artist, actually.
Congrats again on the record
Potentially, Allison’s recipe
I figured it out. :) <3
I can probably do a sub-10 run now.
I don’t want to spoil it for other people.
⚠️Huge spoiler⚠️(do not read)
Thanks to your lovely game I realized that good card games are programming languages and each card is a function.
⚠️More spoiler⚠️
We need to write a loop. There are no
whileorforcards in this game fortunately. Our goal is to figure out a way to get many more cards and hours. The theory is that if “more” is a large enough more, the functions will loop forever. You also might want to have less cards (not critical) because it makes it more likely you’ll get all the ingredients in one hand!⚠️Much moar spoiler⚠️
Look for cards that give more cards and cards that give more time during the current day.💀☠️Ruin Ruby's Resolve for yourself☠️💀
I personally ended up relying on `Overcome` and `Brainstorm`. Spam `Brainstorm`, and you essentially have infinite cards cause each `Brainstorm` returns other `Brainstorms`(s) to your hand. `Overcome`, if you use it more than once, essentially gives infinite hours. So the fastest you can grab two copies of `Brainstorm` and one `Overcome`, the faster you complete this wonderful game! Deleting some cards might help (I did that) and I am no longer sure it is a necessary part of a successful recipe. You totally cracked it - that's what she did too.
I had such a fun time reading your post. Thanks a lot for playing! I love seeing people take our game to the limit!
I love this game! I had a feeling it was gonna win the jam. It is such a good fit for the theme.

I wonder what is the strongest time (days) possible. Would you add a leaderboard so we can see what people were able to do?
Awww thanks so much! And well done!
That's a great idea to add a leaderboard, however my sister and I have moved on to other projects at this point. Though, maybe some time I will come back to Ruby's Resolve, or some form of deckbuilder and build a full game. There are so many ideas I have that could make this into something warranting a full release, but game development just takes so much time which I am trying to work into my schedule now that I have a job again.
As far as I know, my friend Allison holds the record currently. She somehow completed the game in 5 days, which is an insane feat. Here is the image to prove it (I have not come close to this myself 😆):
That’s amazing! 5 days is so good. Must be pretty brilliant! I wonder how she could get a sub-10 days run.
Always amazes me how some players understand the game’s mechanics 200% better than their maker.
Hahaha, so true!
I built a state machine and I think she found some loophole to get more and more cards and more and more time each day!
I don’t know it yet but I respect her resourcefulness.
The most broke OP tactic I found so far is
⚠️Spoiler🥷
The most broke OP tactic I found so far is spamming "Extra Credit", "Glass Half Full" and "Revision"But that doesn’t even get you a sub 20 day time. :/
I have played through 10 times, this game is so fun! I really like doing challenge runs where you avoid a specific skill (creativity, wisdom, logic, or resolve) I just finished the game in under 40 days without ever putting points into logic or resolve and it was really cool. this gameplay is so engaging and as the sound guy for our game I really love the music! Inspires me to try and work with more types of synths!
Just played the game linked in your profile, love what you did with the soundtrack there!
My sister wrote the music in Ruby's Resolve using the built-in instruments in GarageBand. She has a very strong background in music theory / composition, but is newer to the production side of things. What she wrote here was awesome, I agree. I'll pass along your compliment.
Also I'm really glad you are enjoying the game so much! That's a really cool idea to add challenges to the runs. I suggest trying to beat the game in as few days as possible!
OMG this is super cute and also I love it! Y'all did such a great job!
❤️
Quite contrary to what's happening in game - I'm totally ADDICTED!! As someone who became obsessed with Slay the Spire this game for sure scratches my card game itch. Love the wholesome vibes and the theme is amazing (so relatable!). Great writing and on brand cards to really tie everything together 10/10. Love the art 💛
